Dear TAMCAR community,
Tennessee Association of Municipal Clerks and Recorders would like to share an important leadership update as we move through a period of transition within the organization.
Angie Skarp has recently stepped away from her role as City Recorder with the City of Franklin to begin a new chapter. With that change, she is no longer able to continue serving as TAMCAR President. With that transition, and in alignment with TAMCAR’s bylaws, Vice President Lisa Canfield has stepped into the role of President. We are grateful for Lisa’s leadership and the steady presence she brings during this time.
Kristie Diamond will step into the role of Vice President and complete the remainder of Lisa’s term, helping to ensure continuity for the organization. Elections will continue as planned this fall, including positions for Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Region Directors
We also want to share an important update regarding the Institute Director role.
For many years, MTAS has provided an Institute Director for TAMCAR, and we are incredibly grateful for that longstanding support. Over the past several years, TAMCAR, in partnership with MTAS, has been intentionally preparing for a transition to an association-supported model.
While MTAS remains a valued partner, they will no longer provide the Institute Director role. As a reminder, maintaining an Institute Director is required by IIMC (International Association of Municipal Clerks) to ensure TAMCAR remains in good standing and can continue to provide approved education for certification and continuing education.
Because of the board’s careful planning and the success of the Sponsor Program, TAMCAR is now in a position to support this role internally.
During this transition, the Board has appointed Angie Skarp as Interim Institute Director through the end of 2026. In this role, she will work closely with the Board to help define and establish the structure and expectations of the position moving forward.
We appreciate your continued support of TAMCAR and remain committed to serving our members and communities with transparency, stability, and purpose. |
